Virovitica City Museum

Unexpectedly Interactive

Upon the entrance into the Pejačević Castle and the Virovitica City Museum, do not expect a classic museum but an exciting interactive story on the life in the Virovitica area from the younger Stone Age until the first decades of the 20th century. This is a story told through multimedia, auditive and tactile elements inviting visitors of all generations to actively participate. Wake up the researcher in you and venture, listen and play. Smell the forest and listen to its sounds, try to catch a bug under the leaves on the bottom of the forest and discover who Bernardo Bernardi was. The ‘Wooden Age’ museum collection reveals the story of the wood from its beginnings in the forests of Slavonia until it was applied as a material in households, crafts and industry.

Visitors will be thrilled by a virtual wardrobe where they can try on the clothes of a countess (most certainly they will immediately want to share the created photo on social networks), and may send also one of the traditional recipes of the Virovitica area by electronic mail.
