On that warm 13 June 1997 in the small Slavonian village of Gradina children were playing in the schoolyard when Our Lady appeared to them or, as the people of the area call her, Our Lady of Gradina. Four days after the event, a cross was placed there and this small pristine village, where Our Lady appeared also in the distant 1939, became a place of pilgrimage, prayer, Mary’s songs and contemplation for numerous believers and interested people. In this exceptionally powerful, inspirational and spiritual place, believers created a prayer area and decorate it daily with flowers and candles. From the place of apparition to the nearby Church of Elijah the Prophet, there is a way of the cross with its stations.
