Church of Saint Teresa of Ávila
Unexpectedly Impressive
It is a rare woman that can boast of a gift that count Ivan Nepomuk Janković gave to his wife at the beginning of 19th century. Having built an impressive classicist church in a small town, he consecrated it to her namesake, Teresa of Ávila. Nowadays you can still notice the coat of arms of the Janković family at the top of the oratory, while in the crypt, in the sarcophagi, the count and countess Teresa and members of the family rest eternally in love. For the church in Suhopolje it can be justly said that it represents the count’s testimony of love to his wife.
