Unexpectedly Diverse

The gastronomic offer of the region is defined by the Slavonian and Podravina cuisine often showing also some Hungarian and German features. The wealth of the fish stock and game additionally contributes to the menu. Look for the traditionally noble, individual and hearty dishes in the catering facilities carrying the sign of the standard of the Podravina and Slavonia Tastes.

Unexpectedly Sparkly

On the slopes of Krndija, Papuk and Bilogora, there are two vineyards – the one of Orahovica-Slatina and the one of Virovitica. In 1864 in Slatina, in the cellar of the Count of Schaumburg-Lippe, one of the earliest sparkling wines in Croatia was produced from the Kadarka sort and that very same cellar today produces an exciting sparkling wine range. Most represented in the contemporary production range are the sorts of Graševina, Pinot Gris and White Pinot Noir, Green Silvanac, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Frankovka. Several themed events take place during a year in honour of wine and wine culture standing out from which is particularly the Slavonia and Podravina Cycle, ‘WINE not’?! cycle.
