Edita Schubert’s Promenade

Unexpectedly Different

Edita Schubert (1947-2001) is the most prominent representative of the transavangard in the Croatian art. With her visual arts research, she was far ahead of her time. She visually experimented with different geometrical and free shapes, often on the border between the figurative and abstract. Researching the line and combining it with numbers, she anticipated the today unavoidable barcode. Her visual art ideas and solutions were implemented on the front of the building, on the pavement and on the benches in the promenade as well as in the landscaping units. Edita Schubert’s Promenade is a part of the Virovitica corso.
