Papuk is also hiding the first Croatian geological monument of nature – Rupnica. Here you can feel the power of the Earth created by a powerful eruption of a volcano a hundred million years ago leaving behind marvellous columnar jointed volcanic rocks. Continue your walk with the symphony of the forest stream up to the nearby Trešnjevica quarry. That palette of rocks from the various ages of the geological history of the Earth will also make you notice the veins, witnesses of dramatic geological change in the past.
